The two No Kings Day protests in 2025 were among the two largest days of organized protest in American history.
Yesterday likely surpassed that: organizers estimated as many as 9 million people turned out at 3,000 events around the world.
Including Switzerland: yesterday, we turned out in force in Zürich to show solidarity with those who demand freedom, justice, and democracy.
At the Zürich No Tyrants rally, jointly sponsored by The Beacon, Democrats Abroad, and Campax, Americans and their allies spoke out against tyranny and hate, and Parliamentarian Fabian Molina gave a rousing—and amusing—speech where he stated clearly what’s obvious to the entire world: Trump sees himself as an emperor, but as in the famous folktale, he’s really just a vain fool.
It doesn’t end here. Our fight to protect democracy, in the USA and around the world, doesn’t end with a day of solidarity, no matter how record-breaking it is.
