INDEPENDENCE DAY PROTESTS
Tomorrow is Independence Day.
It’s also the deadline President Trump has set for his enablers in Congress to pass his budget bill: a bill whose particulars are so unpopular across the political spectrum that the only possible conclusion is that the MAGA politicians who voted for it are more afraid of Trump than they are of their own constituents.
Trump will not face the voters in any future elections. But his enablers are acting as if they, too, will never have to face the people.
To celebrate American Independence and stand up for our democracy, the Democrats Abroad have organized two demonstrations this weekend in Switzerland. We encourage all those who support American democracy, whether you are a Democrat or not, to join in.
- Zürich: Saturday, July 5, 11:30am - 1:00pm, at Zeughausplatz
- Lausanne: Saturday, July 5, 11:00am, at Église Saint-Laurent Square
